Joe Leventis is a partner at Sharpe & Leventis, LLC and a Columbia personal injury attorney whose career has included criminal prosecution, civil litigation, and plaintiff-side advocacy.
He began his legal career as an assistant solicitor in South Carolina’s Fifth Judicial Circuit before moving into civil litigation and ultimately focusing much of his practice on representing people injured through the negligence or wrongful actions of others.
Today, Joe brings that litigation background to personal injury cases throughout Columbia and surrounding South Carolina communities.
Early Career
Joe was born and raised in Columbia, attended Dreher High School, and continued his education at the University of South Carolina, where he completed both his undergraduate studies and law degree.
His legal career began in South Carolina’s Fifth Judicial Circuit, where he served as an assistant solicitor and handled criminal matters ranging from Magistrate’s Court cases to serious felony prosecutions.
That early courtroom experience became the foundation for the civil litigation and personal injury work that followed.

Joe began his career as an
assistant solicitor, prosecuting criminal matters and gaining hands-on experience evaluating evidence, preparing cases, negotiating resolutions, and appearing in court.
Civil Litigation
After leaving the Solicitor’s Office, Joe joined Richard A. Harpootlian, P.A., where he developed a deeper interest in civil litigation.
He later practiced alongside his father, attorney
Leigh Leventis, handling both civil and criminal matters and continuing to develop his litigation experience.
Plaintiff-Side Personal Injury
Joe’s career eventually led him further into plaintiff-side advocacy. Before co-founding Sharpe & Leventis, he worked at The Jeffcoat Firm and completed the intensive Trial Lawyers College program to further develop his trial and advocacy skills.
Today, personal injury is a central focus of Joe’s practice at Sharpe & Leventis, LLC.
