Pat Sharpe previously served as a Richland County public defender and later prosecuted DUI cases for the City of Columbia, while Joe Leventis began his career as an assistant solicitor before moving into civil litigation and personal injury law.

From Lifelong Friends to Law Partners
Pat Sharpe and Joe Leventis have known each other since they were toddlers. They grew up together in Columbia, attended local schools, and spent much of their early lives around the city’s legal community.
Long before they became law partners, both saw firsthand what it meant to practice law in Columbia—the relationships, the courts, the people, and the responsibility that comes with representing someone when the stakes are high.
Their careers eventually took them through different sides of the legal system, but their paths came back together when they formed Sharpe & Leventis, LLC.
Today, that lifelong friendship shapes how they run the firm:
personally, directly, and with a shared commitment to the community they have always called home.
Patrick Sharpe
Pat began his legal career at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office, where he handled more than 700 General Sessions cases, before later prosecuting DUI cases for the City of Columbia.
Pat is admitted to practice in
South Carolina,
the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina, and
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and he was named a
Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2021.
Joe Leventis
Joe began his legal career as an assistant solicitor in South Carolina’s Fifth Judicial Circuit, handling matters ranging from Magistrate’s Court cases to serious felony prosecutions.
He later moved into civil litigation*, practiced alongside his father, Leigh Leventis, and continued developing his trial skills through the
Trial Lawyers College before co-founding Sharpe & Leventis, LLC. Joe has been recognized by
Super Lawyers every year since 2022 and was named a
2026 Legal Elite of the Midlands honoree.
